Terms of Use

These conditions govern all visits, searches, and use of the website's content. Using the website confirms agreement with them. Anyone who does not agree should discontinue use.

NO FCRA USE. This is a private website with no government affiliation. Neither it nor its advertising partners provide a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions controlled by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Its purpose is to identify Mobile County and Alabama criminal-record resources. It is not a consumer reporting agency or private investigation firm.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site operates independently of government. It does not store official records and cannot retrieve a file, perform an official check, or submit paperwork for a visitor.

Its content identifies official Mobile County custodians, including MCSO, the criminal courts, ALEA CJIS, and the Alabama Sex Offender Registry, along with outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information found here or through a linked tool must not be used to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate. Alabama law specifically bars misuse of Alabama Sex Offender Registry data, including using it to injure, harass, or commit a crime. Registry publication supports public safety awareness and does not authorize vigilantism or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create background checks, credit reports, or other consumer reports. Our services and partner tools are not offered for FCRA-regulated decisions. Users agree not to use their contents to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A check for a regulated purpose must come from ALEA through the authorized process or from a compliant consumer reporting agency.

5. No Legal Advice

Content is not legal advice. General Mobile County record procedures cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, or expungement rule applies to a particular matter. Consult a licensed Alabama attorney for that analysis.

6. No Warranties

All material is supplied "as is," without a promise that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Charges, dismissals, restrictions, and expungements can alter a record after publication. Gaps may occur, and no content here is an official statement by a court, sheriff, or other government body.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to sheriff, court, state-agency, legal-aid, and outside search services that we do not control. Their content, availability, fees, privacy practices, and terms are their responsibility. Review those terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Mobile County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, changed, distributed, or adapted without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for damages arising from use of the website or reliance on information from it or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

Users agree to hold us harmless against claims, actions, or demands caused by their use of the website or violation of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

Alabama law governs these terms, including applicable Alabama Deceptive Trade Practices Act provisions, Ala. Code §8-19-1 et seq. A dispute connected with website use must be filed in an Alabama court with jurisdiction.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised, and a new version takes effect when posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or ended at any time and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. The affected language will be narrowed only as needed.

15. Questions
